NALC is the North American Landscape Characterization project, a component of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Landsat Pathfinder Program. At http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/landdaac/pathfinder/pathpage.html you can find a NALC User's Guide, and a sample set of NALC data (a site other than San Antonio) which you can download. These San Antonio images are all 666 by 666 pixels (666 wide and 666 tall). They are made from Landsat MSS (Multispectral Scanner) data, which was corrected and georegistered (straightened out to read like a map, with north pointing up), and resampled to 60 meters. So each pixel represents a square of ground 60 m by 60 m. MSS bands 1, 2 and 4 (earlier known as bands 4, 5 and 7) are provided here. MSS bands (wavelengths): MSS band 1 (green) 0.5 - 0.6 micrometers MSS band 2 (red) 0.6 - 0.7 micrometers MSS band 4 (near-infrared) 0.8 - 1.1 micrometers Following is information on the original scenes. Note: Landsats 1, 2 and 3 were on a different path/row system from Landsats 4 and 5; these scenes are all exactly the same place. scene LM1029040007622390 (10 August 1976, path 29, row 40, Landsat 1 MSS) scene LM5027040008521490 (2 August 1980, path 27, row 40, Landsat 5 MSS) scene LM5027040009116790 (16 June 1991, path 27, row 40, Landsat 5 MSS)
